CELEBRATING DIVERSITY

This week school was celebrating diversity through reading books and wearing blue in honor of World Autism Awareness Day.

Mr Grant – our music teacher, read a book called “Same,
Same But Different” written and illustrated by Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw. Through an inviting point-of-view and colorful, vivid illustrations, this story shows how two boys living oceans
apart can be the best of friends.

Meanwhile, on April 2 our students came in blue. Students were taught how autistic brains work, what super powers they have and what difficulties they face in their everyday lives. Students showed their comprehension and acceptance, but the most important is that they want to become part of better community.
