The BIS Advisory Council met this week, welcoming H.E. Nicolas Faye, Ambassador of France to the Kyrgyz Republic, as the new Chair.
The Advisory Council brings together institutions, business and non-profit organisations on the Council, together with school leaders, to review BIS developments and future plans. This meeting focused on ‘BIS Contribution to the Development of the Kyrgyz Republic’ which is part of BIS’ mission. Zhazgul Tumenova, BIS’s Community Projects Officer shared information about BIS’ influence in the country, including the scholarship programme where BIS has contributed over $3 million towards the education of 110 students since 2014. Zhazgul also illustrated the practical ways BIS engages students in meaningful projects that foster leadership, innovation, and civic responsibility, and BIS internship programme for local teachers. Discussion focused on new campus plans and opportunities for collaboration with local partners to support shared development goals and strengthen BIS’s community outreach.
Advisory council members expressed appreciation for the school’s enduring vision and collaborative spirit as BIS continues to expand its positive impact across the country. During the meeting, the Council also elected Elena Sanchez to serve on the BIS Governing Board.
