Last Friday and Saturday, schools from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan came together for a fantastic cross country competition held in Karagach Roache. Races were held on both days, with runners pushing their body to the limit as they made their way around the course. Individual races ranged from 3km to 5km, with a
thrilling relay race also held on the Friday where the athletes, working in teams of four, each completed a 1km lap around the park’s lake. With a DJ keeping morale high at the start line, the event had a wonderful atmosphere as runners and volunteers alike enjoyed the glorious autumnal weather at the park over the two days. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and enthusiasm of our army of volunteers, patiently stationed around the course to point runners in the right direction as they ran along the various routes. Well done to everyone who made this such a special sports competition.
