The bliss of summer adventures gives way to the joys of new friendships, fresh discoveries and learning, as our students return to school – or join us for the very first time. Each new school year brings around 100 new students as families arrive and depart, new teachers join our community, and BIS continues to grow and evolve.
We look forward to welcoming you on Monday, August 24th, with students arriving between 7:40 and 8:00 am, including those travelling by school bus.
All Homeroom Teachers, Co-Teachers and Form Teachers will be waiting outside on the basketball court, with signs for their classes, so that students can easily find their class group and reconnect with friends. At 8:00, we
will have a brief welcome before students head to their Homeroom or Form class to begin the new school year.
The Parents Association will also be serving coffee and snacks for parents who would like to stay, chat and reconnect with other members of the BIS community. Each class should have received an email from their Homeroom or Form Teacher with timetables and essential information for the first week. Staff profiles for all BIS staff will be shared with the community in Voices at the end of the first week.
As teachers will be busy welcoming and settling in students on Monday, you will have an opportunity to meet our teachers and other families at BBQ events from Tuesday to Friday. Tuesday for Grade 11/12, Wednesday
Grade 9/10, Thursday Grade 6/7/8, and Friday all PYP up to Grade 5. Each event is from 16:30 to 18:00. Please join us for your event to meet their Homeroom and Form Teachers, ask questions, and find out more about the
educational programmes and the BIS community. Let’s work together to make 2026–27 a joyful, inspiring and successful year of learning, friendship and discovery for all our children.
