Celebrating Inclusion and Diversity Days

At BIS, we’re proud of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, which we celebrated in our recent Diversity and Inclusion Days across both the Middle and Primary Schools. These events were filled with activities that educated and inspired our students about our differences and our identities.

Our younger students enjoyed various stories about friends being different and how it is important not to leave anyone behind. As for the upper Primary students, there was a special guest for grade 4 and grade 5, Mia from grade 5 Y, who took this opportunity to act on her upcoming presentation about ADHD. Middle School students participated in impactful presentations on neurodiversity and our brains working in different ways and with different speed.

A major highlight of the outdoor activities was preparing a giant puzzle poster where many students and staff came with ideas about of what makes them unique and what could represent them in our big, diverse and multicultural community at BIS. Encouraged by this success, we are planning to expand these initiatives to include even more community voices next year, continuing to educate our students on the importance of inclusivity and how it is important to celebrate diversity.
