New faces at BIS: Ms. Nadine

My name is Nadine Lemoine and I am joining the wonderful BIS community as the new MYP Coordinator and Individuals & Societies teacher. I grew up with a diverse cross-cultural background, which exposed me to the world at an early age and deepened my connection to my own humanity. I went to university wanting to study global and environmental issues to make “big changes” in the world, and years and a few degrees later, I was able to work my way up in environmental and human rights NGOs in Afghanistan, Cameroon and the Caribbean.

Discovering my passion for education was a watershed moment, leading me directly towards inquiry based education, outdoor education and the International Baccalaureate. My teaching career has since brought me to China, South Korea, Albania and Romania. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences and my love for experiential education with the BIS community! In recent years, my personal exploration of mindfulness and somatic awareness naturally led me to certifications in yoga instruction, breathwork coaching, and reiki practice. I’m really eager to continue my training during my time in Bishkek and am constantly looking for people to practise with. Outside of teaching and yoga, I’m passionate about the great outdoors.

Whether it’s rock climbing, mountain biking, or trail running, the mountains call to me – and I generally try to spend every weekend outside! I’m excited to discover the unique landscapes and ecology of Kyrgyzstan.
